If you’ve never done it before, you might not know the best technique for applying TheraTears® eye drops. To help you, we’ve put together this specialist guide on how to use our eye drops. Simply follow this technique to apply your dry or tired eye treatment.
Before you administer the drops, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water – and then dry them off with a clean towel.
Using one hand, gently pull your lower eyelid down and away from your eye. This creates a gap (or ‘pocket’) for the drops.
Tilt your head back and look up. Hold the bottle of eye drops upside down with the tip just above the pocket you have created under your eye. Then squeeze one or two drops into your eye as needed. To avoid contamination, make sure the tip of the bottle does not touch your eye or eyelashes.
Close your eye for at least one minute. While you do this, press your finger on your tear duct, applying light pressure. This will help to prevent the eye drop from draining away from your eye.
You can use our TheraTears® range of over-the-counter drops whenever you need relief from dry, irritated and red eyes.
